Tirupur : Members of Rajini Makkal Mandram celebrated ‘Samathuva Pongal’ in Tirupur today.
Tributing this Pongal to their 'Thalaivar', the members gathered at Eswaran temple area in Tirupur and cooked Pongal in 69 pots indicating the 69th birthday of Actor Rajinikanth.
Earlier, Sakthi Subramaniyam, Head of Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners' Association who inaugurated the event said, "After 'Baasha', Rajini's 'Petta’ movie is well-received by the public and has become a mass hit. The movie has been garnering decent collection including overseas".
Likewise, Samathuva Pongal was celebrated at Saamundipuram in Tirupur.
